BBC's 'Race Across The World' winner heads for Zanzibar

Alfie Watts, the hugely popular winner of BBC TV's "Race Across The World" in 2024, is heading to Zanzibar this September in search of both adventure and relaxation.

The 22-year old will head first to Chumbe Island - a private, fully protected nature reserve off the coast of Zanzibar, famed for its award-winning coral reef sanctuary and strict eco-friendly design. Alfie is keen to learn more first-hand about their ground breaking 'Reduce" programme to change the way plastics are used in Zanzibar's tourism industry.

He will then head to Bwejuu – Paje beach (named as one of the top 30 Island beaches in the world by Condé Nast Traveler magazine) on Unguje (main) island where he will stay at each of Zanzibar Collection's stunning properties - Breezes Beach Club, Baraza Resort, The Palms and Zawadi.

Alfie will keeping his loyal 450,000 social media followers educated, entertained and enthused by his thoughts on the 7-night trip. As Alfie said, "I love variety when travelling and I was delighted to learn that Zanzibar offers far more than just reaxing on a beach. Although I'll admit, it will be amazing to take it easy for a few days. But I want to get a real feel for the archipaelago and being able to visit two different islands will certainly help achieve that."
