Biosphere is an internationally recognised certification that promotes sustainable tourism through continuous improvement and alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. This certification not only reflects our strong commitment to responsible travel but also holds us accountable to concrete, measurable, and externally verified actions.
You can find our public profile and initiatives listed here, and feel free to share this with your clients: https://www.biospheresustainable.com/en/community/green-inspirations-dmc/5229
Office and Operations: We follow the “3 Rs” principle: Reuse, Recycle, Reduce throughout our offices. We avoid unnecessary printing, use recycled materials, and donate unused but functional equipment to local schools and community centres. All electronic devices are turned off when not in use, and only eco-friendly cleaning products are used.
Eco-conscious Partner Selection: We work exclusively with accommodation providers, venues, and activity partners who align with our environmental policy, including proper waste sorting, plastic reduction initiatives, and use of renewable energy sources wherever possible.
Field Activities and Events: All our outdoor activities (beach dinners, bush picnics, etc.) are vetted by our staff. We use reusable utensils and equipment and apply strict no-trace principles.
Fleet & Emissions: Our vehicles are maintained regularly for optimal fuel efficiency. They are equipped with energy-saving fridges to reduce the use of single-use plastics and keep refreshments cool during safaris.
Animal Welfare & Responsible Tourism: We prioritise ethical experiences that do not disturb wildlife. Our guides are trained to follow strict codes of conduct in national parks and conservation areas to ensure minimal impact on animal behaviour and habitats.
Staff Training: Our guides and drivers undergo regular training in sustainability practices, including environmental stewardship, animal ethics, emergency protocols, and guest education. We’re proud to take this step forward and would be happy to collaborate on future projects with you
