Amani Collections set to open two new Serengeti properties in July

Amani Collections is set to open its seventh and eighth properties in Northern Tanzania in July 2026.

Amani Lamai Luxury Camp

This will be located just 200 metres from the Mara River's Crossing point No.4 in the Lamai area of the park. With just 10 tents, it will provide luxury accommodation along with stunning views.

Lamai is one of the least-visited corners of the Serengeti, so you often get uncrowded sightings—a rarity in peak safari season. The triangular “wedge” shape of Lamai is formed by the Mara River looping along the border, creating a natural wildlife corridor.

This is one of the best places to witness wildebeest crossings during the Great Migration (July-October). Compared to more famous crossing points, sightings here can feel more exclusive and less chaotic, even during peak movement.

Even outside migration season, the Lamai Wedge delivers strong populations of lions and leopards due to good cover and prey availability, as resident wildlife makes it rewarding all year.

So, fewer vehicles at sightings with ,ore natural animal behaviour (less disturbance) and a “private Serengeti” feel that’s hard to find elsewhere

Amani Lobo Camp

This will be housed in the scenic Lobo Hills, with 10 rooms, including a gym and spa treatments room. It is just 10km from the Lobo airstrip.

Unlike the flat southern plains, this area has rolling green hills and thicker vegetation, making it feel more varied and lush. Aside from the migration period, because of the denser vegetation, animals can be harder to spot compared to the open plains where visibility is better. But the big advantage - this region sees far fewer tourists, so game drives can feel completely private, sometimes without encountering another vehicle at all, offering a more intimate, immersive safari experience.
