Precision Air expands fleet with two additional aircraft to meet growing demand

Precision Air is expanding its operational fleet on 10th August, with the arrival of two additional aircraft : an ATR 72-500 and the advanced ATR 42-600, returning after significant operational enhancements.
This expansion addresses recent capacity constraints and strengthens their connectivity on key regional routes, including important tourism destinations across Tanzania and the Comoros.
Mr. Patrick Mwanri, Precision Air’s Group Managing Director and CEO, said:
"These additional aircraft demonstrate our commitment to meeting market demand while maintaining our high service standards. The ATR 42-600, as the latest ATR model, will provides enhanced comfort through improved seating and significantly reduced engine noise. Its return to service will position us to meet growing travel demand".
Regarding the ATR 72-500, Mr. Mwanri added, “It boosts our capacity during this period of increased demand. This move addresses ongoing fleet shortages caused by global supply chain disruptions and engine part shortages that have impacted our operations. Recent passenger disruptions—including flight delays, cancellations, and scheduling adjustments—were largely due to delayed aircraft returns to service caused by difficulties sourcing engines and parts.
Mr Mwani explained that Precision Air wants to assure ustomers that the airline is working tirelessly with its partners to resolve issues and minimize inconvenience.
“As an airline that listens to its customers, we remain agile in responding to market trends while staying true to our core mission of providing safe, reliable, and comfortable air travel across Tanzania and East Africa’s key destinations,” Mr. Mwanri concluded.
The additional aircraft are scheduled to enter service on August 10, 2025, strategically timed for the peak tourism season.
