Tanzania Tourism UK has shared with travel professionals the findings of their latest MARIFA Tourism Survey.
For the last decade, a consumer and trade survey has been completed to appraise “window In time” opinion and usage of African destinations.
On Monday 17th March at an event in London, the Head of Tourism Marketing for the UK, Tim Henshall presented his findings to senior officials from TTB, TANAPA and NCAA, along with high profile UK-based representatives of the Tanzanian private sector.
"Knowledge isn't everything, but it certainly helps. The report gives us encouraging signs for Tanzania along with some very clear pointers regarding what we should be looking to do going forward. It makes for fascinating reading even if it is only a 'litmus paper" survey", said Henshall.
The report summarises the findings, following an online consumer survey (with a universe of 8,765 individuals, all of whom travel long-haul with wildlife viewing high on their agenda) and three separate trade surveys – one in person and two online surveys.
In addition, the survey included visiting the websites of over 250 relevant tour operators to analyse their content.
