Meet Michael, co owner of Enduata Camps and the guiding force behind our very first camp, “Wild Wakati Camp”
Raised on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, the outdoors shaped him early. Over fourteen years of guiding, he has shared Tanzania not just through wildlife, but through stories, culture and a deep pride in place. Owning a camp was never about scale, it was about creating something rooted. A space that honours the land and supports the community around it.
“We’re humbled by the opportunity to operate in one of the world’s most iconic locations,” he says. “With that comes responsibility.”
At Enduata, that responsibility is lived quietly. Solar power, careful water use and long term partnerships with neighbouring communities are simply part of daily life. Many of the team are local, and their warmth shapes every stay.
Enduata is not about reinventing safari. It is about keeping it honest, personal and connected to the people who make it what it is.
