Set deep inside Manyara National Park, this camp is close to Wayo hearts as it was one of the first camps they started 20 years ago, with small pop-up tents on the ground.
The game viewing here doesn't even need a game drive. Much of the wildlife comes to camp, with elephants sweeping up the riverbed in dry season, fish eagles soaring over the rift ahead, leopards coming to drink at dusk and lions roaring at night, making use of the amphitheatre at the top of the falls.
Today, the camp remains intimate, with only 8 guest rooms and is still in the same position near the banks of the Endabash River. The guest tents are raised slightly more than previous and have moved higher up the banking. It has a new higher main area but retained the lower-level beach/sundowners space.
They are continuing their commitment to positive tourism with all camp renovations and including the interiors made only by local craftspeople in Arusha.
The beautiful panelling behind the bed is made from reclaimed wood from the old camp.
Inspiration for the tent structure came from our Wayo Little Green Camp star tents. These
Bedrooms have a retractable roof so guests can experience the stars while lying in bed.
Activities available in camp or nearby, include walking safaris, waterfall climbs, rift valley hikes, canoe safaris, the Manyara treetop walkway and our cultural mountain biking and village tours in Mto Wa Mbu.
Wayo Manyara Green Camp is open year-round. There is still some availability between July - August still but more space can be found between September and November and into 2025.
