Fish Eagle Point has announced the return of their whale tagging project for a second consecutive year. This initiative, conducted in partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), brings together a team of leading marine biologists and whale conservation experts.
Their work plays a pivotal role in understanding whale migration patterns and promoting marine biodiversity conservation in the Indian Ocean.
"For the moment we are not publicising the dates of the activity, to ensure the process is implemented as we would like. This project not only underscores Tanzania’s rich marine biodiversity but also showcases our commitment to sustainable tourism practices" says co-owner, Simon Attwell.
Unsuspecting guests visiting during the programme will have a unique chance to observe the whale tagging process, gaining insights into marine conservation efforts firsthand. This aligns perfectly with FEP's eco-tourism ethos—offering educational, conservation-focused experiences that inspire a deeper appreciation for wildlife and the environment.

Fish Eagle Point, is an eco-lodge uniquely situated off the beaten track along Tanzania’s pristine coastline. They are dedicated to sustainable tourism practices, offering an immersive eco-tourism experience that harmonises with the natural environment.
"We are not a luxury destination! We are a laid back, eco-friendly resort on a remote stretch of coast," added Simon.
The lodge is nestled within untouched coastal wilderness, providing guests with opportunities to connect deeply with nature while minimising their ecological footprint. From solar-powered facilities to eco-friendly accommodations, sustainability is embedded in every aspect of our operations.
