Thanda Island confirms exclusivity offer via newly appointed Abel & Graham

A member of Leading Hotels of the World, Thanda Island opened in 2016 and is an exclusive private island retreat located within Tanzania’s protected Shungimbili Island Marine Reserve in the Indian Ocean. Designed for those looking for total isolation and privacy with their friends and family, this five-hectare tropical island is a breathtaking paradise, surrounded by pristine coral reefs and turquoise waters. 

At the heart of Thanda Island lies an exclusive single-key villa, with five beautifully designed suites directly on the beach, accompanied by two oceanfront Bandas.

All of the accommodation can be booked together and is looked after by a discreet, dedicated island team. Guests can enjoy world-class diving, big game fishing, snorkelling, marine adventures, wellness experiences and exceptional dining while exploring one of East Africa’s most unspoilt marine environments.

Exclusive use of Thanda Island and the surrounding marine reserve is offered for a minimum of five nights from $40,740 per night.

The Villa accommodates ten adults in five suites, with additional accommodation available for up to eight guests in two traditional Tanzanian Bandas (double-storey beach chalets) and a further six guests on the catamaran Umoja.
