This year, Regional Air reinstated scheduled services to five Serengeti airstrips—Lobo, Grumeti, Sasakwa, Fort Ikoma, and Lamai—providing access across the northern, western, and central regions of one of the world's most iconic wildlife ecosystems.
Together with its established services to Seronera and Ndutu, Regional Air now offers one of the most extensive Serengeti access networks in Tanzania. For tour operators designing Northern Circuit itineraries, the full breadth of the ecosystem is once again accessible through a single airline.

Since 1997, Regional Air has been at the heart of bush aviation in Northern Tanzania. Through decades of change in the regional travel landscape, the airline has remained steadfast in its mission: connecting travellers to Tanzania's most extraordinary wilderness destinations with safety, reliability, and the warm hospitality for which East Africa is renowned.
This latest expansion comes as Tanzania's tourism sector continues to grow. In 2025, the country welcomed 5.94 million visitors, a 10.7% increase from 5.36 million in 2024. Aviation connectivity to the Northern Safari Circuit—home to the majority of Tanzania's wildlife tourism—plays a vital role in supporting this growth.
By restoring services across the Serengeti's northern, western, central, and southern regions, while maintaining connections to Lake Manyara, Kilimanjaro, Tarime, and Zanzibar, Regional Air is helping improve access throughout the tourism circuit. This enhanced connectivity is expected to support continued growth in visitor arrivals, encourage wider distribution of tourism benefits, and contribute to longer visitor stays.
Nearly three decades after its founding, Regional Air has grown into one of Tanzania's most respected aviation operators. Its success has been built on a clear and enduring purpose: connecting people to destinations that inspire and transform them, while delivering every journey with safety, reliability, and exceptional service.
