Gecko Publishing - the dynamic team behind the hugely popular 'Travel Africa' has collaborated with Tanzania Tourism UK to create a stylish new consumer magazine - 'Travel Tanzania'.

The first edition, which runs to 84 pages, looks well beyond the obvious, and features extensive content on Tanzania's numerous tourist attractions and not just the well-known Northern Circuit.

As TTUK's Tim Henshall, explained "Tanzania is proving more popular than ever with international visitors - attracted by the promise of the world’s finest safari experiences in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. But pleasingly it is lesser known parks that are increasingly attracting travellers and this first issue of Travel Tanzania delves deeper into Tanzania’s entire tourism treasure trove, with plenty of hidden gems".

Whilst the northern parks have long grabbed the headlines (with Tarangire and Manyara seeing new facilities and stylish new properties adding to their appeal), the southern parks - Ruaha and Nyerere - are emerging from the shadow of their more famous counterparts, with outstanding wildlife viewing coupled with a high level of exclusivity and a real wilderness experience making them appeal to discerning safari connoisseurs. To the west, Katavi is frequently described by those who have ventured into this remote park as one of their all time favourites, whist Mahale and Gombe offer captivating chimpanzee encounters in pristine rainforest environments.

Contents include :

  • Serengeti - year round

  • Ngorongoro- away from the crater

  • Kilimanjaro - without climbing

  • Swahili Coast - conservation on the islands

  • Tarangire guide

  • Lake Manyara guide

  • Nyerere - room to roam
