Osunyai Lamarkau is 255 Uncharted's latest property venture, opening in time for the 2025 season. Whilst originally a tented camp, it has now been upgraded to lodge status.
Co-owner, Hunter Strand explained, "Whilst upgrading and renovating the camp we did not want to lose the feeling of being under canvas, yet wanted to create a more comfortable and luxurious environment for our clientele".
As with all Unchartered's properties, they operate on a strictly exclusive basis, which they believe is the highest form of luxury on a safari experience. Osunyai Lamarkau is also open year-round.
Due to the location of Osunyai Lamarkau and its sunrise setting, the camp affords a spectacular start to each day, with a procession of wildlife meandering in front of camp.

Location
Set on the edge of Tarangire’s wilderness zone—far from the main safari circuit—Osunyai Lamarkau is the most remote accommodation within the park. It offers seclusion, sweeping views, and a truly wild setting.
The camp is located on the edge of the Lamarkau swamp, only a kilometre away from Silale swamp which offers amazing game viewing in and around the camp. This can be especially apparent in the dry season when animal activity accumulates around the sparse water sources.
Activities
We are one of the most southern camps in the park which allows us to more readily access less frequented areas of the park. This allows game viewing to be done as privately as possible and away from other vehicles.
Game Drives in 4WD Vehicles, Game Walks (accompanied by an armed Ranger), Night Game Drives, Star Bed Camping, and small fly-camp overnight sleep-outs for the more adventurous.
Accommodation

There are 6 En-suite Safari Tents; two Junior Suites, each with a king-size bed and two single beds and two Family Tents, each featuring a main tent with a king-size bed and an adjoining tent with two single beds
There is one large mess in the centre of camp, as well as a smaller private mess which can be utilized as a more intimate dining area for smaller groups. The camp is designed to host either one large group or can be split into two fully private camps.
