Nimali Ilaroi House: a private safari home at Tarangire

Nimali has opened Nimali Ilaroi House, an exclusive-use safari home where the only agenda is your own. Perched on a granite kopje overlooking Tarangire National Park’s eastern boundary, this five-suite private residence sits within a 10,000 acre conservancy where elephant herds drift past at dawn, lions stake out the acacia woodlands and leopards vanish into the golden grass.

One house. One group. 10,000 acres of untamed Tanzania

Nimali Ilaroi House has been created for families, friends and small groups seeking a more personal way to experience safari. The private home accommodates up to ten guests and is supported by a dedicated team, private guide and exclusive safari experience.

Nimali Ilaroi House brings together privacy, design and wilderness in one of northern Tanzania’s most atmospheric landscapes. Think long dinners under the stars, sundowners on the pool deck, nightcaps in the cigar lounge and early mornings on the elevated star deck, watching the bush come alive. Its position gives the house sweeping views across the surrounding wilderness, while curved walls, natural tones and wide glass openings allow the architecture to sit quietly within the land.

“Nimali Ilaroi House marks a significant milestone in our journey,” said Harjot, Co-Founder

of Nimali. It reflects our vision of creating deeply personal safari experiences; offering

guests complete privacy and freedom, while immersing them in the outstanding hospitality,

guiding, and spirit of the wilderness that define Nimali.”

Rooted in place and purpose, the word Ilaroi means buffalo in Maa, the language of the Maasai people, a nod to the resilient herds that have shaped this land for generations.

Sustainability and community remain central to the Nimali Ilaroi House experience. The surrounding conservancy supports wildlife movement and community-based conservation, while initiatives such as beekeeping and local honey harvesting connect guests directly to the land and the people who help care for it.

Nimali Ilaroi House is open now – ready for families, friends and adventurers seeking a

safari in this remote part of Tarangire where wildlife, landscape and time move at their own pace.
